Longstrider 5e (5th Edition) Spell In DnD Spells
Touching a creature will increase your target’s speed by 10 feet until the spell ends. Whenever you use a spell slot of 2nd level or higher, you’ll cast Longstrider 5e, targeting one additional creature above the primary level for each spell slot. The natural instinct might be to use this spell during combat, but you’ll use it before combat begins to gain an advantage and surprise your enemies. During a dungeon traversal, you have several rounds to get to your destination quickly.

Ninth-level spells are meant to be the pinnacle of spell casting, so they must have game-changing effects to be worthwhile. There are several spells that are obviously powerful, such as meteoroid and need, so it is important to analyze Time Stop in order to determine whether it is often on par with other epic spells within the fifth edition. I will do my best to defend Time Stop since it’s too awesome to ignore.
It’s also interesting that some spells, such as Darkness, affect a creature’s vision external to its senses, so does that count as affecting that creature? What about simply making noise for other creatures to hear? My sense is that what you are doing to finish Time Stop must actively affect creatures, rather than just affecting their environment. In my opinion, you can simply use Shatter to collapse a cave entrance, although it makes a thunderous noise (not to mention the subside noise). Since the sounds aren’t delayed, I’m also curious if a creature frozen in time could hear what’s happening during the duration of your time stop.
During Time Stop, it is also important to consider whether spell durations will still expire. Generally, spells that harm an individual will do so on their turn, but their turns are delayed while you’re taking extra turns. In this part of the spell, it often seems to imply that the environment is also frozen in time, but the spell just says that creatures are frozen in time. Additionally, it’s weird to think about what happens during Time Stop to the effects you caused before casting Time Stop. You should definitely check with your DM before you use this spell.
If your sorcerous origin is Divine Soul, your healing abilities are formidable. You will have to multiclass one or two levels in Cleric or Bard to learn basic healing spells that you can simply upcast during times of need since a Sorcerer knows no healing spells. The level eighteen class feature, Unearthly Recovery, is also a fantastic way to hear yourself if you’ve been grievously injured. With the Longstrider 5e spell, you are given much time to use these healings, but you can use potions instead of spells during this time as well.
In conclusion, the ability to prevent time is powerful, but it’s not universally useful unless you propose its use. Longstrider 5e spell might not be as powerful as it once was, but spell casters with creativity and planning can change the sport with it.
