After flourishing the weapon used in the casting, you vanish and strike just like the wind. A total of five creatures will appear within range. Use melee spells to attack each of them. Targets take 6d10 force damage when hit. You will then teleport to an unoccupied area within 5 feet of one of the targets you hit or missed.
Though this spell relies on the Wisdom modifier (melee spell attack), it can deal impressive damage and may maneuver you into an advantageous position. The only downside is switching between your ranged and melee weapons and ending up within 5 feet of the enemy.

The best way to use this spell is to cast Tree Stride on a turn before using it. Drop your bow on your tree perch within 30 feet of a target who is also standing next to a tree, and pull out your melee weapon with your free action. With Steel Wind Strike, you can strike up to six targets, then use Tree Stride to return to your perch. On your next turn, you can recover your bow as if nothing happened.

During a large battlefield, Tree Stride is ideal for archery, as you can move around every turn, concealing your location from your enemies. Additionally, if you need to retreat quickly, you will move 500 feet between trees each round. It’s like using the Dimension Door every round.
At least one of the trees must be living and of a similar size to you. To enter a tree, you should move about five feet. During the move to enter the tree, you will be aware of all trees of a similar kind within 500 feet and can either enter one of these trees or leave the tree you are in. A spot of your choice within 5 feet of the destination tree can be chosen, with another 5 feet of movement. As long as there is no movement left, you will appear within 5 feet of the tree you entered.
The material component is additionally “a melee weapon worth at least 1 SP.” Since a shadow blade has no monetary value, you can’t even cast this spell while holding one. Unless you have war caster and spellcasting focus, you would have to hold the fabric component in your other hand, restricting your access to your reaction spells.
